What is...

What is Clinical Hypnotherapy?

What is Hypnotherapy

Clinical Hypnotherapy is the therapeutic use of hypnosis and is a really powerful tool to help us overcome a wide range of physical and psychological problems.

It can be used to change mood and overcome unhelpful habits and phobias. It's also a great way to enhance your performance skills in any environment, such as sport or public speaking.

Hypnotherapy is considered a “complementary therapy,” not an alternative therapy, so we will work alongside other healthcare professionals such as Doctors, Dentists and Psychiatrists. In fact many Doctors and Psychiatrists are trained in hypnotherapy.

What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?

What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is the combination of hypnosis and psychotherapy. It makes use of proven techniques from NLP, CBT and Solution Focused Brief Therapy and has been proven to be very effective at introducing change into our lives.

What is Psychotherapy?

What is Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a talking therapy, and it involves conversations with a trained listener who can assist in making sense of, and then trying to change, things that are causing you problems.

What is Hypnosis?

what is hypnosis

Hypnosis is an induced state of focused attention (trance) where the client is pleasantly relaxed. It helps us to activate the imagination that we all possess, so we can make positive changes at the deeper unconscious "programming" level of the mind.

Trance is perfectly normal. We go into trance all the time. For example, while driving and you are on autopilot, you lose track of time and all of a sudden you are aware that you are approaching your destination or motorway turn off. It even happens while doing exercise (Ever get lost in the music you are playing while on a run or in the gym?). It even happens while reading a book or watching your favourite TV show.

In session work, the hypnotherapist will guide the client into a relaxed and altered state of consciousness. The client is always in control and may leave the trance state at any time under their own will.
