My Approach

“Look into my eyes, you are feeling sleepy.
When I click my fingers all your problems will have disappeared.”

If that is what you are hoping for, sorry to disappoint. Hypnotherapy just doesn’t work like that.

The Solution Focused approach is first and foremost a “Client – Therapist collaboration”.

I won’t tell you what the solution to your problem is. Instead, I work with you to help you arrive at your own solution.

Most clients come to me knowing what they don’t want, but can’t tell me what they do want. They have spent so much time thinking about and living with the problem that they just can’t get past this and see the wood for the trees. All they know is that they just want things to change. So, I help them to “see the wood”.

I do this by using a combination of psychotherapy and hypnosis to help them identify what their more positive future would look like. Then, by using their own internal resources they are able to identify the small easy steps they can take to become that future calmer, happier, empowered and more positive self. The great benefit of using hypnosis, is that it is used to access the powerful unconscious mind and in doing so, can help you to make the positive changes you need.

The emphasis here is on looking to the future and how you want your life to be, instead of trying to find how the problem came about or unpick past painful events. This means you get to become a better you much quicker than traditional therapies which deep dive into the cause of the problem. This can mean many months or even years of therapy sessions.

You can’t change what has already happened, so do we need to spend time revisiting it? Wouldn’t you rather spend more of your time living life how you want to be instead? If you are happy and coping well does it matter what the original problem was that caused you to seek help?

With the tools and techniques that you will use, you will be able to remain that positive, happier, better you.
